Invitation to the 2017 Annual Review Meeting and Field Trip

The annual review meeting of the CSL – Center for Carbonate Research will be held October 2-3, 2017 in Miami at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science on Virginia Key. During the annual review, we will report the results of the ongoing projects and discuss the planned projects for the coming year.  A list of the projects covered during the meeting is listed below and on the website: www.cslmiami.info 

This year’s field trip (October 4-5, 2017) will be to the Florida Keys and Florida Bay.  The theme of the Florida Keys portion of the field trip is the Pleistocene reef development and the sedimentary record of the oscillation of sea level during the last interglacial (MIS5e).  The day in Florida Bay will illustrate the deposition of organic-rich carbonate mud in a lagoonal setting.  The cost of the field trip is $1,150.00.  This includes transportation during the field trip, hotel for the night of October 4th, boat rental, lunch and dinner on October 4th, breakfast and lunch on October 5th and a field guidebook.
